Kiwanis Division 23 Raised $5,728.50 for the boys and girls of SOS Children's Village at the Tropical Pleasure Walk on October 17, 2009! Let's top it in 2010!

While each of our 15 clubs supports its local charities and residents, the entire Division comes together for several important events each year. One such event is our Tropical Pleasure Walk to benefit SOS Children’s Villages – Florida.

SOS is a unique, local foster care community nestled in Coconut Creek that provides a home to 66 children. Over the past 15 years, they have provided shelter, safety, nurturing, and family to hundreds of children, many of whom grow up with the village as their only true “home.”

But family and nurturing doesn’t end at 18 years of age. We, as parents, always welcome our children’s’ return visits home, no matter what their age. Throughout their lives, they will always have our ear, our advice, our comfort, and our assistance. This is why Kiwanis is so passionate about supporting SOS’ “Moving Forward, Moving Up” fund. This special fund allows SOS the freedom to continue being home to these children long after they strike out on their own. They know that they can come home to SOS to visit for holidays, receive sage help and advice, and help up when necessary.

Prayer Breakfast

Spiritual growth and understanding is one of the core values of Kiwanis. It is no wonder that the Interfaith Prayer Breakfast is such a long-standing tradition. Uniting both our members and differing faiths in the community, this breakfast celebrates our commonalities while raising money to support different charities each year.
